Treatment of reject from waste-paper recycling
Rejects from the paper industry all over Austria are processed in our reject plant. Reject consists of a mixture of residues from the recycling of waste-paper (such as fibres, plastics) and iron wires. To recover the iron, 15,000 to 20,000 tons of this material are shredded annually in the plant and separated from any metal content by means of a magnet. Recovered iron has a preset quality and can be directly recycled. Any remaining residue is processed in the mechanical processing plant into high-quality refuse-derived fuel.
